The Story

Survived A Choice is the true account of a young mans search for his birth parents.  It takes it's readers on a journey and gives others an intimate and real perspective on the issues of adoption and abortion.  The journey is filled with tears as well as laughter.  It puts into perspective what a young woman goes through when faced with an unplanned pregnancy and how her decision to move forward can have an impacting effect on those around her, and those yet to be.  The Survived A Choice journey has been shared with thousands of listeners throughout the US.  It has been presented in churches, banquets, fundraisers, as well as classrooms, senior centers and campuses.

In 1989, a 20 yr old named Jeff Harding was critically injured while serving in the US Army.  He was involved in a late night accident on a rural Georgia highway when he was hit head on by a drunk driver.  While laying in a ditch for hours waiting for someone to find him, he gave his life to Jesus Christ.  He states that while unconscious, God reminded him that He had concecrated Jeff before he had even been born.  He had been deemed with a special purpose just as we all have been by our Father.  Jeff's purpose was not to lose his life in that ditch.  But he doesn't remember God telling him what it was suppose to be.  After drifting in and out of consciousness and eventually waking up in a hospital ER, he found God had placed on his heart a want to search for his birth parents.  After a month of rehabilitation and therapy, he was discharged from the Army, and went home to begin his journey.

Jeff is now married to a beautiful wife and a father to two 5 yr old sons.  He is active in his church and works to equip churches for the adoptive family across the midwest.  Jeff uses his journey to inspire others and build value in adoption as an alternative to abortion.   The message is brought to campuses and reaches an audience that is capable of changing culture.  He also holds seminars with high school and college counselors to ensure that the value of open adoption is represented when presenting options to women in crisis.  His story is unique and it effectively changes hearts.  Through out the journey, the adversity and pain Jeff uncovers is overcome by the acts of love and compassion by others involved.  His life is saved in the 11th hour and Gods plan for him prevails.
